PSP Go! Unveiled

With all the competition breathing down Sony's neck, the Japanese tech-giant just had to do something.

Behold, the Sony PSP GO! Watch the video first (QORE June 2009):

What the PSP! Go is basically a slidetop PSP - smaller, sleeker, gamier. What first came to my mind are those MP4 camera-music-video-whatever players from China. It made the PSP look somewhat cheaper in my humble opinion, with the addition of those metal rings at the D-pad and the buttons. Search it on Google. You'll find one in no time.

Now, with the negatives aside, the PSP Go! has some good features on it. It has:
• On-board memory (Flash) 16 Gig
• Bluetooth support
• Portability
• All digital content; No UMD
• 3.8in screen
• 43% lighter than a normal PSP
• Playstation Network Store

Just a note: What's with the Portability? So the PSP (Playstation Portable) 1000, 2000 and 3000 aren't supposed to be portable?

Good news. The Sony rep in the video sayst the PSP 3000 will stay in the market with the Go! No need to rush buying this. Two PSP types are cool. Removal of the UMD drive is cooler. But whatever Sony does to improve its products you can't remove the complaints, some of which are the lack of 2 analog sticks and the design itself.

Whichever side you're on, you should just give it to Sony. They're suffering a lot from the PS3 yet they still continue to evolve their products for their customers. That's what you call care.

Prices are expected to hit at £214/$250. Quite expensive, but worth it.

'Till my next installment.
