"The Animal" Batista quits WWE, moves to Strikeforce

The news was three days ago and this was the first time I've heard of it: Dave Batista calls it quits with the WWE and apparently has been signed to California-based MMA organization Strikeforce. Watch the TMZ interview below:

If you'll remember, Batista said "I quit" whilst in a wheelchair, looking injured and all, in WWE Raw after being defeated by John Cena in a similarly named "I Quit" match.

Well, we have WWE has-beens in the MMA industry right now, such as Bobby Lashley and Brock Lesnar. Why not Dave Batista? Well, some say because he has no real martial arts background unlike his contemporaries in MMA who wrestled in high school. Says Brock Lesnar:
"Get in line, everybody and their dog wants to get into fighting," he said. "Next question. We're talking about a heavyweight championship fight, not some wannabe."
Brock may be good with his MMA, but it's another issue with his human skills. He remains a douche.

Real life rival Booker T. also bashed Batista about his MMA transition. He said that "he wouldn't last 5 minutes with Bobby Lashley."

The move to Strikeforce was said to be a financial one, with Batista hitting contract snags with money and schedule issues. While Batista blew his horn early, Strikeforce denied the reports about Batista's transition to the company. Mike Afromowitz, Strikeforce's Director of Communications, said that Batista was mistaken and had not signed any type of deal with him.

Personally, I think Batista should try MMA for all his worth. Lots of MMA critics bashed Brock Lesnar when he came to UFC just to totally prove them wrong. With great training, Batista could as good as anyone in the MMA world. He's either gonna be a Brock Lesnar or a Kimbo Slice. Make or break I suppose.

'Till my next installment.
