Sony Playstation Vita (PS Vita) Specs and Price in the Philippines

Sony has officially named the highly anticipated Sony NGP project—the successor of the PSP—the Sony Playstation Vita.

The Sony PS Vita is now available in most parts of the world and is available in two separate models starting at US$249.00 for the Wi-Fi only model and US$299.00 for the 3G+Wi-Fi model, which is still quite cheap considering the power packed inside this machine.

The PSP's younger brother, the Sony PS Vita comes equipped with a touch pad, an OLED capacitive touch screen, two nubs, two cameras, and a display power near the Sony Playstation 3.

The PS Vita's listed titles are around 30 at this point in time.

Sony Playstation Vita (PS Vita) 3G+Wi-Fi Model Technical Specifications and Features
  • ARM Cortex A9 (4-cores)
  • Quad-Core PowerVR SGX543MP+ GPU
  • Front & Rear Camera
  • Built-in GPS
  • WiFi 802.11 b/g/n

Sony Playstation Vita (PS Vita) Availability and Price

Although not officially released in the Philippines yet, the Sony Playstation Vita is available at tech stores and importers as a gray market good and has a price of P15,000.00 to P18,600.00 in the Philippines. That's a brand-new unit of course. No games, no additional peripherals, just the unit, the charger, the manual, and the box. A bit steep (markup is absolutely obscene), but that's the price of owning one early.

Oh yeah, I heard that the 32GB PS Vita memory card sells for US$100.00 flat. If that doesn't scare you from buying a Vita, I don't know what will. Hoping to own one soon though.

'Till my next installment.

  1. I would love to have this one pero sana meron paring makagawa ng custom firmware para libre parin ang mga games.
