Cherry Mobile silently rolled out two new Android phones, namely the W100 and the Candy TV, with another two tablets still pending for release (the Tornado and Superion Plus). This comes as local competitors wage price wars against one another.
The Cherry Mobile W100 is an entry-level Android smartphone that sports a 3.5" display and a 1GHz Snapdragon processor. It's also dual SIM and 3G capable so this means you can pretty much use social networks anytime anywhere. More details below.

Another welcome development with regards to Cherry Mobile is their pricing on the W100. If not for competitive pricing, the W100 would've been priced at around P6,000.00 or more. But for P3,499.00, it's a very good price for a phone with the given specs. If you'll observe, there's also a "no trade-in required" line at the Cherry Mobile W100 poster, a subtle jab to my|phone, one of their toughest competitors, referring to the trade-in schemes of the latter for price discounts for new phone purchases.
We'll wait for more news on this and hopefully the folks at Cherry Mobile would loan us a W100 unit to review.
What do you guys think about this phone? Would you get it or wait for another more powerful but cheap local smartphone?
'Till my next installment.
