Smart Adds Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 to Lineup

Smart recently held an "appy" birthday for the Android operating system at their Jump Center in SM Megamall. You'd think that Smart's in it just for the celebration, since people in the industry around the world also took to the streets celebrating the green robot's 5th birthday. We could've never been more wrong.

A couple of hours ago, people managing the Smart DevNet page hinted something about a "4" and a "7", we seriously didn't think they would, at that moment, officially reveal that they would carry the Nexus 4 and Nexus 7.

Just launched recently, the LG Nexus 4 is the latest Android in the famous Google Nexus line. It sports a 4.7-inch True HD IPS Plus touch display in 768x1280 pixels and ~318 ppi, 2GB of RAM, a Qualcomm APQ8064 Snapdragon chipset, and a quad-core 1.5 GHz Krait processor. It's also one of the first to carry the 4.2 Jelly Bean system. In short, the LG Nexus 4 is the smartphone you will own in the foreseeable future.

Smart also announced together with the Nexus 4 the ASUS Nexus 7, Google's answer to the iPad 3 and the Kindle Fire HD. It's not as new as the Nexus 4, but there are no official retail channels to date until yesterday.

We're expecting these Nexus devices to be bundled with plans and whatnot, but we also want them to be sold off-contract. Hats off to Smart for bringing the LG Nexus 4 home.
