Micromax, an Indian-based mobile manufacturer, recently uveiled the A116 Canvas HD, a 5-inch Android that sports an HD IPS display at ~294 ppi, a 1.2GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor, and an 8-megapixel snapper. Ths device is definitely one of the more ideal targets for localization due to its possibly cheaper nature.

One thing being poked fun at with the Micromax A116 Canvas HD is its quad-core processor. Being four Cortex A7s grouped into one, it would reportedly only be as smooth as Qualcomm's Snapdragon S2 processor, but with more battery efficiency. Then again, a cheap device on an HD resolution wouldn't be half bad.

Micromax A116 Canvas HD Hands-On Review
If this device is to hit the Philippines through mobile distributors such as Cherry Mobile, we may have this for as low as P10,000-P13,000. And like I said, that's not half bad.
Would you buy this if it gets rebranded? Why not?
