SKK Mobile Phoenix X1 Unveiled, Most Affordable Octa-Core at P5,499

Local smartphone brand SKK Mobile recently announced the most affordable octa-core smartphone in the market to date - the Phoenix X1.

The SKK Mobile Phoenix X1 borrows some semblance from the Samsung Galaxy S5 design-wise, but it stops there. The device sports a 5-inch HD IPS display, an octa-core MT6592 CPU clocked in at 1.7GHz, a Mali-450 MP GPU, a gig of RAM, 8 gigs of onboard storage, and a 13-megapixel rear shooter. It runs Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.

SKK Mobile Phoenix X1 Octa-Core, SKK Phoenix X1 Budget Octa-Core

The SKK Mobile Phoenix X1 goes toe-to-toe with Cherry Mobile's own Pulse budget octa-core smartphone. However, the former packs enough punch to beat the top industry player's bet in both pricing and design. The Phoenix X1 looks far better than the generic looking pulse, while being priced only at P5,499 (SRP). For reference, the Cherry Mobile Pulse retails for P6,499. This difference defines a make or break situation for both products.

With regards to availability, the SKK Mobile Phoenix X1 has no official release date yet, though it is continuously being pushed at the company's Facebook page.
