SCEA Announces New PlayStation Protection Plan

Sony Computer Entertainment America has announced a new “PlayStation Protection Plan” for your Sony consoles today. The plan extends your PlayStation system warranty by one or two years – allowing you a free fix when your console needs to be hospitalized.

Obviously, this comes at a price, but is probably worth it in the long run.
You can purchase an extra one or two years that start directly after the original one-year manufacturer’s warranty expires. The Protection Plan can only be purchased by PS3 and PSP owners who are still within their original warranty. Here are the plans:

* PS3 – 1-year extension ($44.99) or 2-year extension ($59.99)
* PSP – 1-year extension ($29.99) or 2-year extension ($39.99)
* PSP Accidental Damage – 1-year ($39.99) or 2-year ($49.99)

If anybody’s looking to purchase these plans, we suggest the two year. It’s only $10-15 more, so why purchase the one year?
